Best Dark and Darker Fighter Build
The Fighter has the following perks and skills to choose from. The recommended options are highlighted in yellow.
Best Fighter Perks

| Dual Wield | Equipping weapons in both hands increases attack speed by 15%. | |

| Swift | Reduces the base movement speed penalty from equipped armor by -20%. Not applicable to additional modifiers. | |

Best Fighter Skills

| Victory Strike | The next attack deals an additional 20% weapon damage. If the target dies from this attack, you recover 5% of your maximum HP. | |
Dark and Darker Fighter Equipment and Stats
Even without the Weapon Mastery perk, the Fighter has plenty of weapons to choose from, including swords, axes, and maces. While dual-wielding and two-handed weapons are an option, the one-handed melee weapon and shield combo is usually the most reliable fit to get you through a fight unscathed. If you want to make your Fighter more versatile, try using Weapon Mastery together with a bow.
As for the best Fighter armor, it mostly depends on playstyle. If you want to be fast and sneaky, go for leather armor. If you want to be tankier, go for plate armor. Just beware that enemies will easily hear you coming if you choose the latter! A nimble Fighter should prioritize the Agility stat, while a tanky Fighter should focus on building Strength.

Dark and Darker Fighter Tips and Tricks
As a balanced class with great defensive abilities, the Fighter is a perfect choice for new players and solo players alike. However, as simple as raising your shield against melee enemies may be, it’s much harder to block incoming projectiles or spells. It’s therefore best to sneak up on Wizards and Rangers, or try to use a bow against them (with the Weapon Mastery perk).
The best way to consistently hit and block as a Fighter (especially against melee PvE) is to move forward, land the first hit, hit again while moving backward, and raise your shield. Moving backwards is very important, as this gives you a bit more time before the next attack lands. You always want to keep a distance between yourself and the opponent.
The only downsides to Fighters are their dependence on good gear and lack of buffs and traps. You probably need several successful PvE runs until you’re ready to face other players, especially on solo maps.
