Founded in 1890, the University of Oklahoma was actually established 17 years prior to Oklahoma's statehood. So, while this venerable institution is, of course, dedicated to the success of its students, the university has always focused on contributing to the advancement of the entire state.

To be eligible, all students must:

have a 3.0 unweighted high school GPA. have an ACT, SAT, Pre-ACT, or PSAT score (unless applying test optional) be eligible to complete requirements for graduation from high school no later than spring of your senior year.

The cumulative retention/graduation grade point average is based on all work attempted, both transfer and OU, minus those courses repeated in accordance with the policy on repeated courses. The minimum cumulative retention/graduation grade point average required for graduation is 2.0.

A 3.0 GPA is just below the national median of 3.28. However, a 3.0 will satisfy most graduation requirements and is the minimum required GPA for most master's programs.

Admission for Incoming Transfer Students

Students entering the University of Oklahoma from another university are eligible to apply with: 15+ credit hours earned with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.4.

Students qualify for assured admission if they meet ONE of the following criteria: 3.0 GPA or better cumulative* AND top 33.3% rank in high school graduating class, OR. 3.0 GPA or better in 15-unit core AND 21 ACT/1060 SAT or better**, OR. 24 ACT/1160 SAT or better**

University of Central Oklahoma has an acceptance rate of 81%. Half the applicants admitted to University of Central Oklahoma who submitted test scores have an ACT score between 18 and 24.
